Tech support long distance

We all know that all the major telecommunications companies contract out their services to overseas countries. Heck lets just say it, you’ll likely end up talking to some guy in India if you call for tech support. The companies have all done it because it saves them some major dollars.

No big deal if the guys can deliver the service and in most cases thats the case. But I don’t understand that when you have a major problem and those guys confirm it they can’t solve it. My internet service promises a certain speed. I used a free internet speed check service to see what my connection speed was. It was way below the level that I was expecting.

So I called tech support and after spending about 20 minutes on the phone with the guy he confirmed yes your connection is way to slow. He had used some downloading test as his internet speed checker to see that things were to slow. The problem was that he couldn’t fix the problem right away. He needed some in North America to look into the problem. The issue for me is that I’ll likely have to speed another 20 to 30 minutes explaining my problem again.
